Our Approach

Steve’s approach has included developing lots for end use, purchasing lots from other developers and the acquisition and completion of foreclosed neighborhoods. Whether working from one of his original developments or resurrecting a failed project, Steve has seen each project through to its successful completion.

With a presence in the East Cobb, North Fulton and Cherokee County markets, Steve has permitted and completed new homes in every year from 1986 through 2023.

Steve’s experience extends into the 55 and over market, having built over 300 houses in the highly successful North Georgia communities of Big Canoe and Achasta. As a long time builder in these stunning communities, one of Steve’s passions is being environmentally conscious and he has served on the Tree Ordinance Board for the City of Milton.

Steve makes a point to preserve the natural surroundings of his properties so that you are always surrounded by beauty.

Our story so far.

Steve Casey specializes in the design and construction of single-family homes in North Atlanta. With over 3000 homes sold over a four decade career, Steve Casey’s longevity is a reflection of his commitment and dedication to excellence.
1974
Steve Casey’s construction career began in the concrete business working for one of the nation’s largest contractors, DeBartolo Construction.
1972
Steve Casey Construction was established. The original concrete business expanded into not only concrete finishing, but also garages, home remodeling and additions and ultimately brand new construction.
1978
With 6 years of experience under his belt in the concrete and remodeling business, Steve built his first house for his very first customer, Eddie Robinson. Mr. Robinson was a disabled veteran. Steve designed and built this specially adapted home, becoming his first foray into custom designing and home building.
1980
After years of a declining economy in the rust belt, Steve Casey Homes moved their operations to the rapidly growing Atlanta, GA market.
1982
The first two years in Atlanta were spent sub-contracting for some of the largest homebuilders in the United States. With a firm understanding of the local market and business relationships in place, Steve built his first house in Atlanta.
1982 - 1989
From 1982 to 1989, Steve joined the Cotton States Development Group and did production building in many East Cobb communities, including Princeton Walk, Princeton Lakes, and Chestnut Knoll, to name a few. In addition to the production building, he also began building custom homes on individual lots for customers.
1990
Steve Casey Homes experienced tremendous success during the 1980’s leading up to the housing downturn brought on by the Savings and Loan collapse. Due to his success, Steve was in a financial position to buy entire subdivisions at a discount, allowing him to offer the best value for his customers. This marked the beginning of Steve’s experience in developing entire neighborhoods, a practice which continues to this day.
1992-2000
Steve started moving his focus from East Cobb to rapidly expanding North Fulton.  In the process of developing over 30 subdivisions there, Steve’s distinctive home styles and community aesthetic proved to be enduring, as seen to this day in many communities throughout Alpharetta and Milton.
2000
Moving into the 2000’s, the baby boomers started nearing retirement age. The skills that proved to be so successful for mainstream building ended up serving Steve well, as he was able to design homes for people who were likely building their last home. Steve’s success with this type of customer over the years led to his invitation to participate in designing and building homes in the active adult mountain communities of Big Canoe and Birch River in N. GA, as well as coastal South Carolina and Georgia.
2006
Steve Casey Homes reached a milestone of $100 million in annual sales.
2007
Expanding their operation into coastal South Carolina and Georgia, Steve completed six homes in one of the Southeast’s most successful active adult coastal communities.
2011
Despite 2008-2011 being the worst economic downturn in 75 years, Steve is one of the rare builders that survived continuously in business under the same name, and built new homes in every year in between.
2014
Steve acquired exclusive access to a neighborhood in Canton called Red Gate, where he designed and built 31 custom homes in the popular modern farmhouse style. Here he fine-tuned what has become a best-selling floor plan, offering an update on the traditional ranch home with superb main level living, generous outdoor spaces  and terrace levels finished with high ceilings and large windows.
2017
As the economy recovered and the housing market rebounded, it came to be dominated almost exclusively by national tract builders. Steve once again is employing his skills to fulfill the wishes of custom home buyers that are otherwise not being met.
2018
We proudly completed our community at Red Gate and added to our portfolio with distinctive custom homes in Valmont and River’s Edge, showcasing our commitment to exceptional craftsmanship.
2021
Focused on growth and innovation, we introduced custom homes and mixed-use live/work projects in Adair Park, leveraging Woodstock’s vibrant and expanding downtown. Additionally, we continued developing estate-sized lots in Cherokee County, blending luxury with spacious living.
2022
Our dedication to custom homebuilding continued with the launch of Summer Ridge, a stunning 17-acre community. Lot sales are anticipated to begin in Fall 2024.
2024 - present
We are thrilled to reintroduce our expertise to the Golden Isles of coastal Georgia with Sanctuary Cove. This vibrant community boasts exceptional amenities and is just 6.5 miles from the beautiful beaches of Jekyll Island. Featuring thoughtfully designed one-level homes starting in the $400s, the first deliveries are expected in Spring 2025.
